Communication with Irish Government and United Nations

The President and Deputy President have this evening sent the following communique to the President, Taoiseach and Minister for Defence of Ireland, and to the Secretary-General and Security Council of the United Nations:
6th April 2010
Madam President, Taoiseach, Mr Secretary-General, and to whom it may concern;
The Provisional Government of the Republic of Observia do hereby announce the formation of the aforementioned Republic, and hereby stake claim to sovereign authority over the land contained within its territory (situated on the L-shaped office of the ground floor of the UCD Student Centre, Belfield, Dublin 4, Republic of Ireland).
The Government decrees its right to draw power from its citizenry and to enact and enforce its own laws.
The Republic of Observia exists to further advance the aims and causes inherited by its forebearer, The University Observer, and seeks to integrate itself within the European and international communities, co-existing peacefully with the other nations of the world.
